Which files can I upload?
GPX and FIT files, from any device or app. You can upload single files or a whole folder at once. Planned routes without timestamps are marked as planned.
Where do I find my files?
Most devices and apps can export GPX or FIT: for example Garmin Connect (export original), Wahoo, or Strava (download your data). Many people also keep a folder of tracks on their computer.
What happens to the file I upload?
It is stored privately, exactly as uploaded. MapSnakes reads it to draw the map and work out the date, place, distance and climb. Fixes, trims and cleanup are stored as edits - the original never changes.
Why are there straight lines across the map?
Usually the GPS lost its signal or the device was left on in a car or train. Open Clean Snakes to see suggested fixes, or switch on cleanup in Settings to hide gaps across all your Snakes at once.
I uploaded the same activity twice.
Identical files are skipped automatically. For the same activity saved as GPX and FIT, use Clean Snakes → Duplicates: it lists them and keeps the most detailed file.
Who can see my Snakes?
Only you. Every Snake is private, files are stored in a private space, and download links expire after a minute. Privacy zones can also hide the parts around your home on the map.
How do I get all my data out?
Go to Settings → Your data → Export everything for one zip with all original files and a list of all your Snakes.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Your data → Delete my account. It removes all your Snakes, files and settings, and your login. Export first if you want a copy.
